"To be a beacon of hope, a supportive ear; serving and contributing to the well-being of the local community, in good times and bad."

Merger of Northampton Central and Northampton East Corps

The merger of the two Northampton Corps will move forward in April 2017.

This decision is the result of much prayer on everyone’s behalf, seeking the Lords mind and heart.

There will be a four stage process which will lead the Corps forward, guided by DHQ but with the main learning coming from the Corps membership and attendance.

Sharing together - getting to know each other’s stories, the story of our respective Corps recognising where boundaries of experience are shared and where they do not.

Caring together - how will we care for each other when we are one? What will our expectations be of each other, what will we need to work on?

Serving together - How will we be disciples that make disciples in the whole of Northampton? How will we be salt and light when we are together and when we are living our daily lives?

Growing together - As the union continues what will be our mission expectations? What will our 'children' look like? (let’s talk realistically about planting future generations of Salvation Army Ministry).

The merger will be recognised with a dedication service on Sunday 23rd April, and affirmed in a celebration service in July.

Please be encouraged that this change will seek to honour the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the investment of our forebears.
